Employee Spotlight: Ford Kerr

1. What is your position at Clarify and what do you do?
I’m a Director of Clinical Transformation and Implementation in our NYC office. In addition to running customer implementation, our team serves as the voice of the customer back to our development team to ensure our products evolve in ways that maintain differentiated value.

2. What excites you most about Clarify?
Knowing that every day I go to work, I’m playing my small part in transforming our broken healthcare system. I genuinely believe Clarify’s AI-driven analytics, care coordination, and patient engagement tools will play an essential role in optimizing the quality of care while bending downwards the healthcare cost curve that has plagued our country for decades.

3. How did you hear about Clarify / How did you get here?
I enjoyed working in healthcare strategy at Boston Consulting Group but knew I’d eventually want to dive into the forefront of digital innovation. Clarify was intriguing from the start, but as I learned more about the quality of the tech and team, it was a no-brainer.

4. What aspect of your role do you enjoy most?
Its dynamic nature. Clarify is just hitting its inflection point in the market, and with $57M in series B funding in the bank, we are growing in leaps and bounds. There are so many ways to dive in and add value at all levels of the organization, and we have a culture where people are encouraged to grab the ball and go.

5. What project have you worked on here that you’re most proud of?
I’m currently optimizing physician-level reporting within Care Prism, our analytics platform. These reports need to enable doctors to quickly understand current performance (good and bad) and arm them with insights on how to improve. Prism’s impact hinges on the actionability of this information, and I’m proud to be driving the effort.

6. If you weren’t working at Clarify or in healthcare / technology in general, what would you be doing?
If I weren’t at the forefront of healthcare technology, I would probably be working in global health, which is all about porting existing first world tech into the third world. The Gates Foundation would have been my top choice for that type of work.

7. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I was the founding director of an a cappella group in college.

8. What’s your favorite app?
Spotify. All the worlds music at my beck and call? Absolute magic.

9. Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled?
Big mountains: Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc, Grand Paradiso.

10. Salty or sweet?
Combine ‘em: Fries and a shake, prosciutto and melon, salty chocolate, delicious.

11. Favorite book, movie, and musician/band?
Book – The Age of the Unthinkable

Movie – Forrest Gump

Band – This is impossible. Probably Odesza these days
